TEA Metallurgical Laboratories (TEA Labs), a division of Trace Elements Analysis Laboratories (Pty) Ltd, is a premier Namibian-based analytical laboratory dedicated to delivering scientific excellence in support of the mineral and environmental sectors. Our Swakopmund-based facility houses world-class metallurgical services and analytical operations, supporting mining and research industries across Namibia and beyond.

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented HSE Officer to strengthen our Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental (HSSE) management. This role ensures compliance with legal requirements, promotes safe work practices, and supports continuous improvement in occupational health, safety, and environmental performance.

Location

Swakopmund, Namibia

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily HSE inspections and audits of laboratory and operational areas.
  • Ensure compliance with Namibian HSE legislation, ISO 45001 & ISO 14001 standards, and company procedures.
  • Support risk assessments, incident investigations, and corrective action implementation.
  • Develop and deliver HSE inductions, toolbox talks, and awareness campaigns.
  • Monitor waste management and environmental performance.
  • Assist with reporting to management and external regulatory bodies.

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in Environmental Management, Health & Safety, or related qualification.
  • Recognized Occupational Health & Safety certification (SAMTRAC/NEBOSH or equivalent) required.
  • ISO 45001/14001 knowledge will be an advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum 3–4 years of HSE experience, preferably in mining, laboratory, or industrial environments.
  • Demonstrated experience in HSE systems implementation and compliance monitoring.
  • Familiarity with Namibian labour and environmental regulations.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of risk management and incident investigation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to train and motivate staff at all levels.
  • Integrity, attention to detail, and problem-solving ability.
