Laboratory Operator (x4 Positions)
TEA Metallurgical Laboratories (TEA Labs), a division of Trace Elements Analysis Laboratories (Pty) Ltd, is a premier Namibian-based analytical laboratory dedicated to delivering scientific excellence in support of the mineral and environmental sectors. Our Swakopmund-based facility houses world-class metallurgical services and analytical operations, supporting mining and research industries across Namibia and beyond.
We are seeking four dedicated Laboratory Technicians to join our dynamic analytical team. These roles provide hands-on support for sample preparation, analysis, and quality assurance across various metallurgical and environmental tests.
Location
Swakopmund, Namibia
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, process, and analyze samples in accordance with standard operating procedures.
- Conduct laboratory tests such as fire assays, wet chemistry, and other analytical techniques.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Record, verify, and report analytical data in laboratory systems.
- Adhere to ISO/IEC 17025:2017 quality standards and internal controls.
- Follow and promote HSE requirements in all laboratory activities.
- Assist supervisors with training and mentoring of junior staff where needed.
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Chemistry, Metallurgy, or Laboratory Technology.
- Training in analytical techniques (e.g., fire assay, wet chemistry, instrumentation) will be an advantage.
Experience
- 2–3 years of laboratory experience in mining, metallurgy, or environmental testing.
- Familiarity with ISO/IEC 17025 systems preferred.
Technical Skills
- Hands-on laboratory skills in sample preparation and analysis.
- Ability to troubleshoot and maintain basic laboratory equipment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data recording systems.
