TEA Metallurgical Laboratories (TEA Labs), a division of Trace Elements Analysis Laboratories (Pty) Ltd, is a premier Namibian-based analytical laboratory dedicated to delivering scientific excellence in support of the mineral and environmental sectors. Our Swakopmund-based facility houses world-class metallurgical services and analytical operations, supporting mining and research industries across Namibia and beyond.
We are seeking two experienced and motivated Plant Shift Supervisors to oversee and coordinate day-to-day plant operations during assigned shifts. These roles ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality laboratory and metallurgical processes in line with operational, quality, and safety standards.
Location
Swakopmund, Namibia
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate plant operations during allocated shifts.
- Allocate tasks and provide guidance to Operators, Technicians, and support staff.
- Monitor production processes to ensure compliance with quality, safety, and efficiency targets.
- Conduct shift handovers and maintain accurate operational logs and reports.
- Identify and address operational issues, escalating as required.
- Ensure strict adherence to HSE procedures and company policies.
- Provide on-the-job training, mentorship, and performance feedback to team members.
- Collaborate with Laboratory Supervisors and management to optimize plant output.
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Metallurgy, Chemistry, or related field.
- Supervisory or leadership training will be an advantage.
Experience
- 3–5 years’ experience in plant or laboratory operations within mining, metallurgical, or industrial environments.
- Proven track record of shift supervision, people management, and process monitoring.
- Familiarity with ISO/IEC 17025 quality systems and HSE regulations.
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of metallurgical processes and laboratory workflows.
- Ability to troubleshoot operational issues and recommend solutions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and laboratory information systems (LIMS).

- High attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and make sound decisions in real-time.
